Taranaki Street pump station delivered
Brian Perry Civil is proud to have completed work constructing the Taranaki Street Pump Station on a tight site in the central city.
The new pump station, hidden below the ground, is 10.88m external diameter, 8.66m internal diameter, with a floor level 8.5m below ground. To construct this, we installed forty-two 900m diameter secant piles 19m below ground level to form the pump station’s superstructure. Instead of the standard polystyrene blocks for the guidewall, we opted for an environmentally friendly cardboard design that proved both environmentally friendly and cost-effective.
The new pump station will reduce pressure on the existing network, accommodating growth and providing resilience for the capital’s critical wastewater infrastructure.
